Currently celebrating its 61st year in operation, DeFino II Dance Studio is the oldest dance studio in Northeast Philadelphia.
The studio was established in 1963 as The DeFino Sisters by 17 year old Linda and 22 year old Carol. The DeFino sisters' passion drove them to open a studio where they could share their love of dance and drama with the surrounding community. The studio became DeFino Dance Studio as it began to focus more on dance education after Linda became the sole owner while Carol became a theater director.
A passion for the arts is still the same motivating factor for the current owners, Linda Monari and Rhonda Haldis who became the co-owners of the reincarnated DeFino II Dance Studio in 2005 as Linda DeFino (Campagna) retired. Linda and Rhonda's philosophy for teaching dance is to have their students learn in a non-competitive atmosphere in order to encourage creativity and confidence. They ultimately want their students to learn the technical and artistic aspects of dance while having fun.
